Add-on

Lookout Send is an add-on, so not every website has it. If it is not in your menu, see Add-ons to add it.

Everything on this page happens on the Settings tab of Lookout Send. To start from the beginning, see Getting started with Lookout Send.

The tab has two columns. Sender and brand settings is on the left. Engagement tracking, Members and ownership and Danger zone are on the right. On a narrow window they stack.

Some boxes on this tab can show up a little later than others, once we update Lookout Send for your website. There is nothing to do on your side.

Sender and brand settings

FieldWhat it does
Sender nameThe name a new campaign comes from, usually your business name.
From emailThe address a new campaign comes from.
Reply-to emailWhere replies go. Blank sends them to the From address.
Brand colorThe color of the band at the top of each email. It starts as #2563EB.
LogoThe logo at the top of each email.
Logo positionLeft, Center or Right.
Header styleTinted band or Separate header card.
Mailing addressYour postal address, in the footer of every email.
Fine printExtra lines in the footer, such as a license number.

Each campaign can change its own sender. These are where new ones start.

Header style sets how the top of the email looks. Tinted band puts a light wash of your brand color behind the logo. Separate header card sets the header apart, with no color.

Logo: click Upload logo and pick a PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP file, under 5 MB. Remove logo takes it off. With no logo, your sender name shows instead. Click Save settings after either.

Important

US law asks for a postal address in every marketing email. Fill in Mailing address before your first campaign.

Mailing address takes up to 4 lines and 300 characters. Fine print takes up to 10 lines and 1,000 characters.

Click Save settings. You see “Settings saved.”

Download portable CSV saves a copy of your Lookout Send data to your computer, as a spreadsheet file.

Link tracking adds tags to links that point at your own website. Your analytics can then tell which campaign sent each visitor. It is off to start with.

  1. Turn on Add UTM tags to links by default.
  2. Check Source and Medium. They start as newsletter and email.
  3. In Your site addresses, list your website’s addresses, one per line. Your own is suggested for you.
  4. Click Save settings.

Only links to those addresses are tagged. Each campaign can change this, under Link tracking on its Details.

Engagement tracking

The Engagement tracking box is off to begin with. Turn on Track opens, Track clicks or Track device to see how people use your emails.

Tracking records what each person does with your email. Some places have privacy rules about that. Check they allow it before you turn it on.

Each switch saves as soon as you click it.

Members and ownership

This box lets other people on your website use Lookout Send.

  1. Pick a person in Site user. Only people who already have a user on your website are listed.
  2. Click Invite member.

What they can do follows their role in Users. There is nothing else to set.

The invitation lasts 48 hours. Until they accept, it shows under Pending invitations. Revoke cancels it.

Transfer ownership makes that person the owner. Remove member takes away their access. Both ask you to confirm.

Closing your Lookout Send account

To close your Lookout Send account, contact us rather than use Request tenant closure in the Danger zone box.
