Business Profile

Your business type, address, map pin, opening hours and special hours.

Ask AI

Business Profile holds the plain facts about your business: what kind of business you are, where you are, and when you are open.

It lives on the SEO page, as one of four cards on the Business info tab:

  1. Go to Plugins, then Content Tools, then SEO.
  2. Click the Business info tab.
  3. The first card is Business profile.

Only Editors and Admins can open this tab. The other three cards are Contact Methods, Social Links and Credentials.

What this card is for

Most of what you type here is never printed on a page. It is what search engines read about your business. It is how a search result can show your address, your hours and a pin on a map.

Some of it does show up on your website:

  • Your address shows on the Contact page, next to the form. If you add an address row on Contact Methods, that one wins instead.
  • Your map pin sets where a Map block points. See Pages.
  • Your opening hours can show in your footer, with an “Open now” note. See Opening hours below.

Important

More than one shop or office? Add them as Branches. Once you publish a branch with a street and a city, your main branch’s address and hours take over everywhere on your website. The card then says so at the top, and the address and hours here are only used if every branch loses its address.

How the card works

The top of the card lists checks: things search engines look for, and whether your website has them. A check mark is good. An exclamation mark needs a look. A cross is a problem. Each one says what to fix.

Change what you need, then click Save at the bottom of the card. The card saves and publishes in one go, and your website changes right away. Discard changes throws away what you typed since your last save.

Sometimes the card holds changes that were saved but never published. A note at the top says so. Then Save keeps a draft, and a Publish button next to it puts everything on your website.

Before you change anything

Warning

Every page of your website carries these facts. A wrong address here is wrong everywhere at once, and a search result can take weeks to catch up.

Read each box back to yourself before you save.

What is in the card

Business type. The kind of trade you are, such as General Contractor or Plumber. Click the box and pick the closest match from the list. The first choice, None (generic local business), is for a business no type fits. We set this when we built your site. Leave it as it is, and tell us if it is wrong.

If the box shows your old wording in quote marks, that was typed in before this box was a list. It still works as it is. Pick the closest type from the list to tidy it up.

Street address. The street and the number, such as 100 Maple Street.

City. Your town. State / region and ZIP / postal code sit next to it. Country code is the two letter code for your country, such as US.

Latitude and Longitude. Your map pin. The next section covers them.

Price range. A rough hint at what you cost. Type $$ for the middle of the market, or a span such as $150-$400. It is not printed on any page. Only search engines read it. Leave it empty if you would rather not say.

Your map pin

Latitude and Longitude are two numbers that mark one exact spot on a map. They help when your street address is hard to find, such as a yard down a lane.

To find them:

  1. Open Google Maps in a new tab.
  2. Find the spot you want on the map.
  3. Right click on it. Two numbers show at the top of the small menu.
  4. Click those numbers to copy them.
  5. Paste the first one into Latitude, and the second into Longitude.

Tip

Leaving both boxes empty is fine. Your website then works from your street address instead, which is close enough for most trades.

Opening hours

One row is one day. Open six days, and you need six rows. A day you are closed needs no row at all. Leave it out.

To add a day:

  1. Click Add hours. An empty row opens.
  2. Pick the Day.
  3. Type the time you open in Opens, such as 8am.
  4. Type the time you close in Closes, such as 5pm.
  5. Click Save at the bottom of the card.

Under each row, a line reads the times back to you, such as “Read as 8

AM - 5
PM”. If it says the card cannot read a time, fix that box. The card will not save until every row makes sense, and a list at the bottom says which row to fix.

Tip

The time boxes take a time the way you would write it. 08:00, 8:00, 8am, 8:30 pm, 17:30, noon and midnight all work.

Closed for lunch? Add a second row for the same day: one for the morning, one for the afternoon. Open all day and night? Type 00:00 and 23:59.

Each row has ↑ and ↓ to move it, and Remove to take it out.

Important

Search engines read your hours from here. Whether visitors see them depends on your site’s style. Many styles list them in the footer, such as “Mon - Fri, 8 AM - 5 PM”, and some add an “Open now” or “Closed” note at the top of each page. If your footer does not list them, add an Hours row on Contact Methods as well.

Special hours

Special hours are for the days that break your normal week. A closed day such as Thanksgiving, or shorter hours all through the winter. On the days they cover, they replace your normal opening hours, for visitors and for search engines.

  1. Click Add special hours.
  2. Type a Name, such as Thanksgiving. It shows next to the dates.
  3. Type the first day in From, such as 2026-11-26 or 11/26/2026.
  4. Type the last day in Through. Leave it empty for a single day.
  5. To limit a season to one weekday, pick it in Only on. Leave it on Every day otherwise.
  6. Check Closed all day, or type the Opens and Closes times.
  7. Click Save at the bottom of the card.

A line under the row reads it back, such as “Read as Thu, Nov 26 (Thanksgiving): Closed”.

Coming special hours show under your normal hours on your website. The “Open now” note follows them too. Once the dates have passed, they drop off by themselves, so there is nothing to tidy up.

Logo and favicon

The card also has a Logo and favicon box with an upload button. It puts a logo or favicon file into your media library, including SVG and ICO files the library will not take on its own.

Uploading is only the first half. Then pick the file as your logo or favicon under Admin, then Settings, then General. See Settings.

Checking your work

Click Save. Then open the Contact page on your live website. Your address should read back to you next to the form. Contact Methods shows what that column looks like.

Most of the rest is not printed anywhere, so there is nothing on the page to check. Read the boxes twice instead, and look at the checks at the top of the card.
